RH Johnson Rec Center

The R.H. Johnson Recreation Center is the largest activity center in Sun City West and is often considered the main hub of the community's amenities. Spanning over 48 acres, it serves as a central focal point for numerous activities, clubs, and sports for active adults.

Key Facilities and Amenities:

• Sports Pavilion: This attached facility features a state-of-the-art, 30-lane bowling center and a large billiards hall with 27 pool tables, a billiards table, and a snooker table. It also houses the Lizard Acres Pub.
• Fitness & Aquatics: The center includes a fitness center and a large, renovated outdoor resort-style swimming pool, along with a spa, indoor/outdoor walking track, and various sports courts.
• Outdoor Sports: A wide range of outdoor activities are available, including pickleball, tennis, racquetball, bocce ball, lawn bowling, and miniature golf.
• Clubs & Creative Arts: The complex hosts a vast arts and crafts village for over 100 chartered clubs, including ceramics, lapidary, silvercraft, and a model railroad club.
• Other Amenities: The center also includes a library, social hall, ballrooms, dog parks (separate areas for large and small dogs), and snack bars.

The R.H. Johnson Center is the location of the Recreation Centers of Sun City West corporate offices and the Member Services desk.
